In Sickness and In Health
Exhibition 2013
The In Sickness and In Health project was an integrated biology, humanities, art, and math project. The idea of the project was to be able to understand the human body and how to stay healthy based on illnesses in our family. We created health plans, lifemaps, interviews with scientists that were explained through art pieces, group disease art pieces to visually explain each disease, oral history videos with or about family members affected by illness, and infographics relating to health care.

Reflection
Throughout all of the madness that comes along with exhibition, for me, the best part is when you get to stop and look at how your team has transformed the room into something you can truly be proud of. My role for exhibition was manager of inventory, meaning I had to go to each group’s manager and figure out what and how much of each supply they needed. When assigned this role I knew it was going to be important because I was a manager but I also thought it was just going to be writing down a list of supply with a couple of numbers. It ended up being a lot more than just a small list, and a lot more difficult. After people didn’t send in lists of supplies they needed, I had to go talk to each manager of each team and come to find out that they didn’t know what supply they needed. The beginning of exhibition was really rushed for me because people needed the supplies before they could transform anything. Once I was done with my inventory role, I was mostly moved around to help with different art pieces. On the last couple of days, I was assigned to redo the entire entrance sign with chalk. I was under a lot of pressure to make it as close to perfect as I could because it has already been redone four times. The sign ended up taking a lot longer than I expected, including coming early before school started to finish it. I was most proud of how well I was able to explain my groups art piece on exhibition night and listening to personal stories relating to the topic we worked on for so long. A major lesson I learned would be to put in your best effort and time the first time around, because in the end it saved more time than having to redo something multiple times.
